Half Life Hero is an engaging educational application that provides insight into nuclear medicines and industrial isotopes, highlighting their societal benefits through an interactive platform.

Designed to support science education, this app serves as a valuable resource for both classroom instruction and supplementary practice on the go, offering an accessible way to explore complex concepts.

The game simulates the radio-isotope production process at ANSTO, immersing players in the operational aspect of generating medical and industrial isotopes. Participants receive orders from hospitals, research laboratories, or industry partners and fulfill them by utilizing ANSTO’s reactor to produce materials such as Iodine, Molybdenum, Lutetium, and others.

To complete these orders, players must immerse raw materials in a nuclear reactor pool where they are exposed to neutrons. The subsequent decay of these materials begins once removed from the pool, with the decay rate influenced by each isotope’s half-life. The challenge lies in managing time efficiently to process materials through two key stages before dispatching them both domestically across Australia and internationally.
